EBAC RETIREES CLUB

The EBAC Retirees Club is open to all retired EB employees, salaried or hourly, that are members of the EBAC when they retire.  Dues are currently $2.00 per year and are collected by the Club every January and forwarded to the EBAC.

The Retirees Club meets at 10 am on the first Friday of each month at the Groton Senior Center.  Coffee and pastries are provided by the Club.  The meetings usually last about 30 minutes.  The Club has a President, Secretary, and Treasurer who are elected annually by the members.  In addition to discussing current member activities and issues, the names of recently departed employees are read and a moment of silence is observed in their honor.

The following is a description of the Clubs current activities.

Pitch: The Club plays pitch after the monthly meeting until 12 pm.  Should interest in playing pitch more often become evident, arrangements can be made to accommodate that.

Raffles: A Turkey Shoot raffle is held every Thanksgiving and Christmas at their respective months meeting.  Gift cards are given to the winners during each raffle by the Club.

Annual Picnic: The Retirees Club has a picnic every year for members, usually the second Thursday in August. The picnic is held in a pavilion at Washington Park in Groton.  Hamburgers, hotdogs, corn-on-the-cob, etc. are provided by the Club for a nominal fee.  Card and Lawn games are enjoyed, weather permitting.

Retirees Golf League: The Retirees Golf League plays at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton every Wednesday starting in late May/early June continuing to about the second Wednesday in September. Details about the league (Bylaws, current rosters and standings) are provided on the EBAC Website under GOLF LEAGUE- RETIREE or you may contact Pat Larkin, EBAC Golf League Commissioner at (860) 204-1107 or by email at plark90@gmail.com.
