· Always wear a personal floatation device (life jacket).
· You are responsible for your own safety. All regular excursions are intended to be suitable for all levels of ability, but weather and water conditions can be unpredictable. If special excursions are planned that are intended for more experienced paddlers, this will be clearly stated.
· The stated start time for an excursion is intended to be when we start paddling, not when we show up in the parking lot. It is recommended that you show up at the launch site 10 minutes before the planned departure to allow time for everyone to launch.
· If you don’t have your own kayak/canoe/SUP, let the group know ahead of time and someone may have one you can borrow. Likewise, if you have an extra, consider offering it to share. Alternatively, there are places locally that will rent them.
· In the case of inclement weather, a notification of cancellation will be sent out via EB mail at least 2 hours prior to the event.
· The target time duration for each excursion is approximately 2 hours, so the general plan is to turn back once an hour has elapsed, if we haven’t already reached a planned turn-around point.
