Brian Spink

Brian has been an integral member of the EBAC Varsity Snowboarding team. He is one of the founding members since 1999 and has finished the past 3 years as the fastest snowboarder for the team’s home race resort. Brian has qualified for the National Naster Championships since 2004 and has won his age division in 2004, 2005 & 2007 when he competed.

Brian as the captain has influenced and affected many members of the team year in and year out. With his guidance he has helped members transition from original snowboard equipment (soft boots) to challenging Alpine equipment. This past season was impressive as the team he is captain of and coaches consistently brought home Bronze medals and Brian consistently brought home Silver. He best shows his leadership for the Alpine Racing snowboard team by being the only member to sport the Speed Suit every Wednesday night race. Good leaders lead by example and that describes Brian. Brian’s accomplishments along with his sportsmanship and his leadership on the mountain and off have proven him to be deserving of this prestigious award, the O.P. Robinson Award for Outstanding Varsity Athlete of the Year.

While not snowboarding for the EBAC Snowboard Varsity Team, Brian is part of the interdepartmental teams of Basketball “Waterfront”, Darts “Beers & Spears”, Softball “Sandbaggers” winning the B League playoffs last year and Golf “Sub-Par”, winning the 1st place in the D-league. Brian is also a past participant in the EBAC Running Club, Tennis Ladder and Volleyball leagues.

Brian again shows outside of EB that he races in the USASA Snowboarding Circuit and has earned regional Champion in his age group for 2006, 2007 & 2008. Brian also participates in the South Eastern Ct Dart league, Gatehouse summer Dart league, player development Singles Dart league and in the summer you can find him playing in the Groton Beach Volleyball league in co-ed 6’s and mixed doubles
